Mission Events

Guided by our Mission Committee, the Parish is working on clarifying and strengthening its sense of purpose and mission in the world. Many of Redeemer's members have long made a commitment of their time, treasure and talent to outreach and work in the world as an expression of our values and faith. The parish maintains a regular and continuing commitment to several mission programs:

Domestic Violence
Bristol Lodge & Sandra's Lodge (facilities providing assistance to homeless individuals and families suffering domestic violence in Waltham);

Hunger and Homelessness

Lexington Food Pantry (operating out of the Church of Our Redeemer building)

Habitat for Humanity The Pancake Breakfast on Patriot's Day, 2006 raised $3400 for Habitat for Humanity.

Ministries of El Hogar, Honduras. In 2006 20 parishioners joined the boys and staff of El Hogar's schools. [See 2006 photos.] A new trip of 15 went in August 2007. See Bikathon page for fundraising.

 

Environmental Stewardship

We provide a regular contribution to, and organize parish-wide workdays for the Massachusetts Audubon SocietyWe are members of Massachusetts Interfaith Power and Light, focused on conservation and efficient use of our natural resources in the use of our property.

Peace and Social Justice

The Alliance for Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Understanding (founded by a parishioner and offering community based, interfaith programs).

Jubilee Ministry of the Diocese of Massachusetts - work on AIDS in Africa
