Dear People of Redeemer,
Michael, our 33 year old son died suddenly of an apparent heart attack. In the wake of this tragedy we find solace in the power of Mike’s life and witness. Here is a collection of emails my son Michael sent out five or six times a year to a distribution list of about 250 people in the last several years of his life. In it you will hear about a chance airport encounter in Israel, meeting a little boy in Istanbul, and Mike’s way of finding God in the most surprising ways. I share them here hoping to continue to have his light ripple out into the world. I share them because he is my son and I am proud. I share them because he encourages and challenges many who seek to live a life which is awake and purposeful, and part of God’s dream of justice and reconciliation of the world.
