On Wednesday, 10 members of Redeemer attended the Science Fair of the Esperanza School in Laurence. We saw science projects by 66 enthusiastic middle-school girls. Each team of three girls told us all about their project, and we learned about forensic science, pollution in the Merrimack River, how music affects blood pressure, how your name might influence your Meyers Briggs personality type, and how to make your own soda. All of the visitors were impressed by the self-confidence and poise of the young scientists. Four Redeemer members who work in scientific fields were judges of the contest. We got a tour of the school and enjoyed cupcakes and conversation with students and teachers.
