Finding Sabbath in a Wired World: Fall Adult Forum series

With cell phones, email, and Facebook, these days we all seem to be
connected and on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We enjoy these
connections, but sometimes they wear us down and we long for some peace
and quiet. God wants us to have that peace and refreshment: it’s called
Sabbath time. But is Sabbath just a quaint memory in today’s world? Or can
we re-claim the concept of Sabbath and find a way to make it part of our
daily life? This is a three-part series and will be offered on Nov 1, 8
and 15 from 11 to 11:50am in the Great Hall classroom.

If you’ve ever longed to turn off your cell phone for a day but
not dared to, if you struggle with how much screen time is appropriate for
your kids — or yourself — , or if you feel like you don’t have even 20
minutes of quiet in the day, this forum is for you. We’ll talk about the
big picture of what Sabbath means, then have time for open discussion and
support around how to find the right balance in our work, faith, and
family lives.
