Fall Retreat Update

October 8, 2020

Dear Redeemer Friends,

Our annual retreat is in just three weeks! We know that many of you took it off your calendars last spring when Barbara C. Harris Camp and Conference Center was closed and had no plans to host any retreats this summer and fall. So, what did we do? We came up with some ways to be together both on-line and, in small groups, in person. Here’s what it looks like right now. All the finer details like times and sign up links will be sent out next week. The purpose of this letter is to let you know what is in the works and to mark your calendars.

Friday night, we will join together for Compline.
We will have a check-in followed by the service. Kate will be leading us.

Saturday afternoon, there will be three options.
All three involve small groups so when the registration information is available and you want to participate, don’t delay! There will be a Cornhole tournament played simultaneously, in socially distant parts of the church lawn. Get yourself a partner or a team to participate! This will be led by Steve Burns. We hope to offer a third option which will be a socially distanced hike that will start off on the bike path and then leave the path for some walks in the surrounding area.

Saturday evening, we will gather for a whole parish on-line game.
Cathy Burns is organizing this. It should be a fun time to gather and perhaps learn a little bit more about each other.

Sunday morning, we will gather for our usual 9:30 service.
The youth group will present a recorded version of the Gospel and after the service, there will be a special guest.
The best news, aside from the fact that we can be “together”, is that you don’t have to pay anything or decide what your sleeping arrangements will be. You don’t have to pack any gear, either! Just save all that energy for next year’s retreat!!

So check your calendars and come spend some time with your Redeemer friends. Again, further details and sign up information will be sent out next week. We look forward to sharing the weekend with you!

Peace,
Cathy and Steve Burns
