Lex Unwind Music and Movie Night coming Sept 15!

On Friday, September 15 starting at 6:30 PM, Redeemer will host the first in a series of FREE Music and Movie Nights in the Great Hall. The first event will feature live music by “The Elements,” a group of young musicians from Chelmsford performing their covers of classic and current hits from 7 to 8 PM. Don’t miss this high-energy group! The movie “Old Yeller”(spoiler alert – tear-jerker!) will start no later than 8:30 and should conclude by 10 PM. Pizza, snacks and soft drinks will be available for a nominal fee beginning at 6:30 PM and throughout the evening. (Note: children under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.)

Future events will be held on the 3rd Friday of each month following the same format: pizza and snacks beginning at 6:30, live music starting about 7, followed by a classic movie or documentary on a current topic or issue starting between 8 and 8:30. Target audience is Lexington middle-school families and up but all are welcome – please tell your friends and enjoy the  “drop-in, come-as-you-are atmosphere.”

It is hoped that “Lex Unwind” will encourage Lexington families to gather at Redeemer for a relaxing evening for a fun/educational event with the potential to attract people not currently attending Redeemer, including young people.

Randy Bowlby and George Murnaghan are organizing the events and seeking local musicians and performers willing to donate their services; movie selections will be via Netflix live-stream. We’re looking for 3-4 additional volunteers to help with set-up, serving pizza and snacks and planning future events. Please let Randy or George know if you’re interested in helping out.

The public is invited to drop in anytime during the evening to hear the music, grab some pizza and enjoy the movie.
